Parent Support

parent supportParenting can be very difficult, time-consuming, and challenging, no matter who you are. Different people react differently to the responsibilities of parenting and sometimes, we all need a little help and support.

It is easy for a parent of any background to become overwhelmed and if you are feeling like speaking with a mental health professional might be helpful, seek help. Among the areas of parent support that I specialize in, these include anger management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, being a parent of a sexually abused child, the impact of a divorce or separation, general parenting difficulties, seeking happiness, parenting skills training, and verbal abuse within a parent-child relationship.

According to studies, 1 in 6 parents experience some sort of mental health issue. Also, single parents are twice as likely to experience mental health trouble.

At times, being apparent can feel isolating, helpless, and hopeless. It does not always occur to a parent to seek out mental health assistance because parent therapy is not something that is oftentimes discussed when we talk about mental health. That said, it can’t be emphasized enough to never be afraid of seeking help. There’s no need to feel ashamed, embarrassed, or worried.

If you believe that the relationship with your child is making it difficult for you to work, to leave the house, or to provide your children with the necessities, guidance, and affection, it is likely time to seek help.
